November 2025 Newsletter

Nov 1, 2025

Fall weather and colors have arrived in Leelanau County. The countryside around Lake Leelanau is particularly beautiful at this time of year, much to the delight of both residents and visitors.

Here’s the latest news from Friends of Lake Leelanau, the public foundation established with your support to protect Lake Leelanau in perpetuity.

A New Board Member

Please join us in welcoming a new board member!

Dawn Lund has recently joined the board of Friends of Lake Leelanau. Dawn’s family has lived in the Lake Leelanau community for three generations. Dawn, her husband Chris, and their son Cobe live on Leland River, and the family continues to own property on South Lake Leelanau, where Dawn grew up. An expert in municipal finance, Dawn brings a background in finance, a broad range of friendships in the community, and a deep passion for protecting Lake Leelanau to Friends’ board.

Send Us Your Lake Photos

We would love to include your photos for our 2025 Annual Report. We illustrate our annual report each year with photos of donors’ family members enjoying the lake or which showcase the beauty of the landscape surrounding Lake Leelanau. We would be grateful if you would send us three to five of your favorite photos for this year’s annual report. Please email your photos to Carol Rademacher at carol@friendsoflakeleelanau.org.

Online Store

Friends’ online store is open until November 22 and we have new merch! Because Friends’ items are printed to order, orders for the holidays need to be placed by November 22 to ensure delivery.
